Summer is the heart of the Lourdes pilgrimage season. All national pilgrimages arrive between June and August, the Hospitalité is at full strength, every ceremony is at maximum scale, and the Torchlight Procession can attract 30,000 or more pilgrims on peak nights. The energy is extraordinary: an almost tangible sense of global Catholic community. However, accommodation books up early, queues for the Baths are longest, and Lourdes town is crowded. This is the season for pilgrims who want the full communal Lourdes experience.
